Dosimeters voeren monitoring en meting uit van het persoonlijke dosisequivalent en het persoonlijke dosisequivalenttempo in het brede energiebereik – van het natuurlijke achtergrondniveau tot 5-10 Sv/h (500-1000 R/h). Instrumenten zijn stabiel voor doseringen tot 300 Sv, hebben twee drempels in DER- en DE-bereiken en hebben een niet-vluchtig geheugen voor gegevensopslag. De hermetische, water- en schokbestendige behuizing en de fluorescerende achtergrondverlichting op het LCD-scherm maken het gebruik van instrumenten onder zware en extreme omstandigheden mogelijk.

PM1604A- en PM1604B-dosismeters worden aanbevolen voor hulpdiensten, douane- en grenspatrouilles, radiologische en radio-isotopenlaboratoria, medische professionals, personeel van nucleaire faciliteiten, civiele bescherming, brandweerlieden en politie.

Working principle

The PM1604A and PM1604B models are pocket-sized energy-compensated personal dosimeters that measure the personal dose equivalent (DE) and personal dose equivalent rate (DER) of both gamma and x-ray radiation. Dosimeters have two alarm thresholds. If preset dose and dose rate thresholds are exceeded, instruments immediately alert the user via an audible alarm. Dosimeters store up to 1000 events in non-volatile memory and transmit all recorded data via an infrared channel to a PC for further processing and analysis.

Dosimeters can be used independently or as part of a system for efficient and emergency monitoring of personnel and people in manufacturing facilities and other locations with external X-ray and gamma radiation sources.
