PEO Radiation Technology is present at the NVS Spring Symposium 2017. The symposium takes place on March 24 in Nieuwegein.
This edition has the theme ‘Nuclear medicine in motion’. Besides the many developments within this specialism, also the radiation hygiene consequences for the workers as a result of production, administration and imaging, are topic.
Visit PEO at the booth and get informed about the solutions we offer in the field of health physics / radiation hygiene and X-ray quality control.
CZT; high resolution gamma spectroscopy without cooling the detector
CZT (Cadmium Zink Telluride) is a room temperature semiconductor that directly converts x-ray or gamma-ray photons into electrons. CZT is a unique semiconductor compared with other scintillator detectors, in that CZT operates at room temperature, can process >10 million photons /second/mm² and has a spectroscopic resolution ≤ 2% at 662 keV FWHM. This makes it a unique gamma spectrometer compared with other semiconductors and scintillation detectors.
GR1 / GR1-A spectrometer
The Kromek GR1 is a high-performance gamma-ray spectrometer utilizing a 1cm³ CZT detector. It is completely self-contained, with built-in preamplifier, shaping amplifier, baseline restorer, pulse height digitizer, and HV supply.
The digitized pulse heights of detected gamma-ray signals are sent to a PC via the mini-USB which also powers the unit, so no external power supply is required.
Quant for GR1
Quant for GR1 (Q4-GR1) is a unique solution for measuring the total activity of radionuclide filters, filter paper and Marinelli-cups (1 liter). The small size, low power requirement, and the fact that no cooling is required, ensure that the Quant in combination with the GR1 is ideally suited for high-speed (outdoor) measurements on location.

RayMon10 radiation monitor
The RayMon10 is one of the most powerful and rugged handheld radiation monitors in the world. It can be used to detect, measure and accurately identify gamma ray emitting radio nuclides, providing high-resolution isotope identification using the latest CZT coplanar grid detector technology.

Kromek D3S compact high sensitive CsI(TL) spectral gamma-neutron detector for wireless radiation detection and identification network
The D3S is a CsI (Tl) silicon photomultiplier-based gamma and neutron detector in one device which is hardly bigger than your palm. D3S is to be used as a remotely readable detector as part of a secure integrated monitoring network. Using a USB or Bluetooth connection the D3S communicates with Kromek’s own isotope identification software.
Characteristics Kromek D3S
- highly sensitive CsI (Tl) spectral gamma and neutron detector (RIID)
- discreet wearable design; lightweight and small
- easy to use; single button operation
- gamma energy range: 30 keV to 3 MeV
- doserate: up to 15 µSv/h @ 662 keV
- operational battery life: 12 hours
- designed for CBRN emergency services
