SRS commissioning and verification plan

STEEV, Stereotactic End-to-End Verification Phantom, from CIRS provides the ability to simulate each step of imaging (CT, MR, PET) to verify the end of the treatment. SRS requires a high degree of accuracy and dose delivery in the target. Small deviations can in fact result in large under- or overdosing target or surrounding (risk based) areas.

accurate simulation

The anthropomorphic form of STEEV, allows the use of clinical resources to fixation. With its internal details such as cortical and trabecular bone, brains, spinal cord, teeth, sinuses and trachea Steev allows the most realistic simulation to complex clinical effects caused by the anatomy.

dose measurements at isocenter and off-isocenter positions

STEEV provides a variety of tissue-equivalent interchangeable inserts suitable for dosimetry including: micro and pin-point ion chambers, film, MOSFET, TLD, OSL (nanoDot) and 3D gel. When these, in combination with a variety of imaging-related inserts are used, the phantom provides for the most complete QA-solution.
