PEO presents the new generation ISP Gafchromic EBT3 radiochromic dosimetry film for external beam radiotherapy
In September 2011 the new ISP Gafchromic EBT3 is expected to be launched. Still used for displaying radiation doses, the EBT3 now comes with some major improvements. It features a symmetrical design which makes it possible to scan the film from either side. EBT3 is pre-marked with fiducials which makes automatic alignment using FilmQA Pro software possible. Furthermore the EBT3 has a matte polyester substrate which negates Newton’s Rings.
advantages
- symmetrical structure, easy to use
- matte polyester prevents Newton’s rings formation
- pre-marked with fiducials
scope
- intensity modulated radiation therapy QA (IMRT)
- external beam radiotherapy
characteristics
- wide dose range, 1cGy to > 40 Gy
- density changes stabilize rapidly
- energy-independent dose response
- reduces scattered radiation
- near tissue-equivalent
- uniformity better than +/- 3% in dose
- high spatial resolution (5000 dpi)
- higher density than EBT2, matte polyester slightly hazy
- eliminates the need for a darkroom
- usable with water phantoms, water immersible (water resistant)
- withstands temperatures up to 70° C
- develops in real time without processing
- supports all major RT technologies
- available in two sizes: 8” x 10” (25 per box) en 14” x 17” (10 per box)
custom sizes on special order
