Next to the previously introduced GAFCHROMIC EBT dosimetry films for use with radiotherapy, PEO now offers the XR-QA version for use with diagnostic and radiology applications. These films offer the same advantages, like water resistance, handling in room light and real-time developing. The XR-QA has been developed to offer you a cheap quality assurance solution which eliminates the need for a processor based system. Specifically designed for the measurement of absorbed dose of low energy (20KVp to200KVp) photons.
The films develop a distinctive and characteristic colour upon exposure to ionizing radiation and become progressively darker in proportion to absorbed dose. These media can be handled in normal room light, thereby eliminating the cost of darkroom space. Furthermore, since they are self-developing, the costs and inconvenience of post-exposure development are eliminated and there are no hazardous chemicals or waste to dispose of so these films are more environmental friendly.
This revolutionary solution for quality assurance is becoming more and more popular at modern hospitals that use radiotherapy, diagnostic and radiology applications. Speciallyoduce no chemical waste. The films are convenient to handle and easy to cut into whatever shape you need it for and can be wasted together with your normal garbage.
