Haaglanden Medical Centre (MCH) chooses for the revolutionary ArcCHECK from Sun Nuclear for 4D precision radiotherapy QA
After extensive clinical testing Medical Center Haaglanden (named Radiotherapiecentrum West from 1-1-2010) has chosen for the modern silicon detector technology of the ArcCHECK from Sun Nuclear.
MCH is the first clinical user of the ArcCHECK in The Netherlands.
Jaap van Egmond (clinical physicist engineer) and Paul Rietveld (medical clinical physicist) from MCH say:
“There are a few aspects we noticed during clinical tests. The ArcCHECK is easy to use, intuitive and appropriate. Because of the cylindrical configuration of the detectors during the radiation of a full (IMRT-)schedule, several different areas of the detector-array are radiated.This provides added value when interpreting the data.
As proof on the puddingwe found out that the combination of in- and outgoing dose information could be useful when interpreting the measurement.”
The 4D ArcCHECK is specially designed for QA of dosimetry at rotational radiation. The unique cylindrical design has 1386 evenly distributed diodes and offers the users an unique solution for QA to clinically used rotational radiations and IMRT-radiations.
